Joe McKendry is a painter and illustrator whose work has appeared in National Geographic, The New York Times, The London Times, Vanity Fair, Esquire, and TIME,  among over

100 publications worldwide.

He is the author of two books published by

David R. Godine, and his corporate clients have included Apple, Google, and Netflix. A native of Massachusetts, Joe teaches

painting and illustration at the

Rhode Island School of Design.

 

The work featured at Fieldwork Vermont comes from McKendry's resonant "Stick" Series, a body of watercolors exploring tree silhouettes along

New England's lakes and coastlines.

Spare, quiet, and closely observed, the paintings reflect close  attention to the natural world.
